Author Guidelines

General Information

Journal is published twice a year; the number of volumes will vary. Journal will be produced after going through the reviewing process from the board of editors. Staring from JPKIK Vol 7 No 1, we only published an article abstract only in the English language. The article could be based on research, scientific studies, and analysis as well as the solution which are relevant to the field of chemical engineering, especially renewable resources. The article should never be published before.

Specific Information

The article should be written in A4 paper. The article should be without any page numbering and composed as follows: Abstract, Introduction, Research Methodology ( or Model Development), Result and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgements (if any), List of Notation (if any), and Bibliography

The article begins with a title using font 17 pt UPPER CASE format. Name of the author written under the title using font 13 pt without any academic degree. Apostrophe put behind the name of the author using the superscript format. The name of the institution (name of the institution, address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail) is written under the name of the author using Times New Roman 8pt. Should there be more than one author, please add the e-mail address of the corresponding author. The title of the article, name of the author, and name of the institution are written in the center of the field. The space between the title and the name of the author is one single space of 12 pt and the space between the name of the author and the name of the institution is one single space of 8 pt.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in English, ranging between 200 and 300 words. The title of the abstract should be written in the center of the field using regular font 9 pt bold. The space between the title of the abstract and the name of the institution is one single space of 10 pt. The space between the text of the abstract and the title is one single space 11 pt. The abstract is written using regular font 9 pt in a single column format. Keywords are written below the text of the abstract, arranged alphabetically, and separated by a comma. The title of the keywords should be written using italic font 8 pt, while the keywords should be written using regular font 8 pt.

Content

Content of the article should be written left aligned with the left margin of 3 cm, right margin of 3 cm, bottom margin of 3,98 cm, and top margin of 3,98 cm. The space between the header and the edge of the paper is 20 mm, and the space between the footer and the edge is 13 mm. The article should be written using MS Word using Times New Roman using 12 pt font, 1.5 space, and in a single-column format. Each article should be no more than 20 pages (including pictures and tables) justified and should end in an even page number.

Sub Heading

Sub Heading should be written in a bold letter using UPPER CASE format, aligned to the left, and numbered. Sub-heading should be written using a bold letter, aligned left without a number, and underline.

Pictures and Tables

Pictures and tables are placed in text with a description. Pictures and tables are followed by the title of the picture placed just below the picture and the title of the table placed above the table. The title of the table and picture should be numbered. The picture should be able to be clearly printed. Pictures or diagrams/ schemes are placed in the text or if the picture is too big, it can be placed in the middle of the page. The picture should not be framed. The displayed tables are without the vertical lines, whereas horizontal lines can only show 3 main horizontal lines which are 2 horizontal lines for the column title and the closing line from the bottom line.



Equation

The equation should be written left aligned and numbered in the brackets. The numbers are placed at the end of the right margin of the column.



List of Notation

List of Notation arranged alphabetically. Notation of the Latin alphabet should be written first followed by the Arabic alphabet.



Quotation

Quotation writing of an article should be written using the Harvard system. The source is written in the description consists of the name of the author and the year of publication. Example: Hidrolisis lignoselulosa dapat dilakukan dengan enzim dan kimia (Megawati, 2009 for one authors; Megawati & Rengga, 2011 for two authors and Rengga et al., 2010 for three or more authors). According to Damayanti (2008),



Bibliography

The bibliography should be arranged alphabetically without any numbering and the space between each item 1.5 space. The rules of bibliography writing are as follows:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors must check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), RTF, or WordPerfect document file format. PDF file is unacceptable.
  3. The text is single-spaced; uses an 11-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which are found in About the Journal.
  5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
