Abstract
Hypertension or also known as high blood pressure is a global health problem. Smoking, diet and hypertension are the two most important risk factors for atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, acute myocardial infarction, and sudden death. The relationship between eating patterns and smoking habits with the incidence of hypertension in adult men in Sesela Village, Gunungsari District, West Lombok Regency.
The research design used in this study is an analytical survey design. The sample used in the study were 69 adult men who smoked. The sampling technique used is porpusive sampling. The instrument used is a questionnaire and data analysis using sperm rank.
The results of this study indicate that most of the respondents with eating patterns are in the sufficient category, and smoking habits with the highest percentage are light cigarettes. Judging from the blood pressure of most of the respondents included in the category of mild hypertension.
The conclusion in this study is that there is no relationship between diet and the incidence of hypertension and smoking and hypertension. Therefore, eating patterns and smoking habits are not the main factors in this study.
